I'm Every Woman

Happy Monday!! Happy July!! I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. I most certainly did. I got out Friday despite the scorching heat. Saturday and Sunday was just too hot for me to exert too much energy, so it was more of me sitting at home thinking of new ideas for the blog and motivating myself for a bigger, better month this July. 

I'm sure yesterday some of you caught the BET Awards. I unfortunately, missed out. I heard it was one of their best shows minus the lackluster performance from Samuel L. Jackson as a host. I heard the Whitney Houston Tribute was their BEST tribute ever. So even though I missed the show, my brother and I had to catch the tribute and we both decided that yes, this was their best. Monica, Brandy, Cissy Houston and Gary Houston were phenomenal. 

And then there was Chaka Khan. She was beyond phenomenal. The sounds that were coming from her mouth were effortless. My brother and I were in awe. And have you seen her lately??? She looks about 40 easy. She lost a ton of weight and became a vegetarian (another person making me consider the change in lifestyle). Chaka is really just something spectacular. Definitely one of my idols. She's from Chicago, was raised Roman Catholic, became a Black Panther, looks part Cherokee and has red hair... What's not to love about this woman? There are no more words I could possibly use.

Back when she was a young jawn (as my brother would say). Lookin like the original Nicki Minaj. I know you all noticed the resemblance.

What did you all think of the performance? What does everyone think about Chaka's weight loss and sexy new look? And did anyone else notice that Nicki Minaj seriously looks like young Chaka?? I really wanna know that one.
